Luminescence Sensors
Luminescence sensors are applied where adhesives, sealing compounds, special liquids, or other materials are combined with fluorescent substances. When illuminated with UV-light, these fluorescent additives will light up and emit light in the visible spectrum (e.g. red, orange, yellow, green, blue).
With the luminescence sensors of the LUMI series, the object preferably is illuminated in the UV range, but also in the IR range. Due to the luminescent behaviour of certain objects the primarily light is converted into visible light or IR light.
With fluorescent materials, the response is quasi simultaneous, whereas with phosphorescent materials the spectral response appears with a time delay. The first thus can be evaluated with modulated systems, whereas the last require the use of pulsed sensors. What is evaluated is the light intensity, or with the LUMI-COL types, also the color information, whereas pulsed systems of type LUMI-IR/IR examine the decay behaviour of the secondary radiation and the secondary light quantity.
The sensors are equipped with an RS232 interface (an Ethernet adapter is available), the Windows® software is included in the delivery.
